This unique program gives the opportunity to the students from other countries to experience and discover a different country, its way of life, its culture while improving their language skills.
As a host family you will have the opportunity to learn a different culture. Exchange students will be considered as a member of the family and will share your day to day life, including house chores.
Having children of the same age is not required. In fact, couples without children and single-parent families are invited to host a student. Your family will soon discover that this experience will bring rewards lasting a lifetime.
Spanish Legacy students will pay for their own expenses and provide their own medical and liability insurance. Your only responsibility will be to provide them with room and board.
Once the student has selected the state and school, the student will be accepted for the exchange program after the completion of a psychological and English test.
The students will need to complete an application that includes the following information:
- Personal data
- School transcripts (last 3 years)
- Family photographs
- Letter to the host family
- Medical history (students are fully insured)
To be a host family you need to fulfill the following conditions:
- Provide a caring atmosphere
- Provide 3 meals per day
- Families should commit to host the student for the duration of the program
In the event of any problems between student and host family, the student will be placed with another host family.
Students will attend a program that includes 25 hrs of English classes, one 3-day field trip to Orlando and different activities during the week.
The program consists of a whole academic year, students will arrive a week before school starts and will return to their home country at the end of the school year. In some cases the students will stay with the host family during Christmas holidays.
